Ocean County Fire Departments Come Together For a Barnegat Boy at Christmas

As I'm sitting comfortably on my mother's couch surrounded by the smells of last night's log in the fireplace, cookies baking, and french toast for breakfast, I had no intention of posting a blog while on my holiday vacation. But a friend posted a story on Facebook this morning that I think is absolutely worth sharing.

Earlier this week, Barnegat firefighters came together for a touching (and loud) tribute to an 11 year old township boy who is battling terminal cancer this holiday season. The impromptu fire truck parade included members of over 30 Ocean County departments.

If this isn't what community is all about, I don't know what is. This is exactly why we're proud to be Ocean County's Hometown Station.
