The Republican National Convention is underway, and much like the Dems last week this election is seeing the first "virtual" party conventions. Although the music and the funny hats and posters may be gone, the messages are still there as both parties give you their agendas via the internet and cable news.
The Republican National Convention runs now through Thursday, when President Trump accepts the parties nomination for reelection as a two term President.
On Thursday, onew of the featured speakers will be Ocean County Congressman Jeff Van Drew. Congressman Van Drew represents portions of Burlington, Atlantic and Southern Ocean Counties.Van Drew made headlines when he left the Democratic Party because of it's shortcomings and became a Republican.
I saw Congressman Van Drew when I covered President Trump's visit to Wildwood, New Jersey earlier in the year when thousands made their way to the summer community for a rally here in the Garden State. President Trump introduced Van Drew to the crowd for the first time as a member of the GOP.
Congressman Van Drew will speak on the final night of the convention, on Thursday. Among Thursday's speakers, besides President Trump, will be Dr. Ben Carson, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senator Tom Cotton, Ivanka Trump and Alice Johnson.
