Have You Had This New Jersey Dish?

Espresso recently did an article that featured "The one thing you have to eat in every U.S. state". This article would be great for those traveling because it highlights various recipes you need to try in each state. If you are not familiar with popular foods in certain parts of the nation, you get a good idea of what to try. They include of course the one dish in New Jersey that you need to try. "Just as an army marches on its stomach, so does the intrepid traveler. Indeed, the fastest and most satisfying way to get a quick connection to the culture of another place away from home is through its most popular foods."

The selection for here in the Garden State is something we probably all have had at one point or another, probably at a diner lol We are talking about the famous Jersey "Disco Fries". If you haven't had "disco fries" than next time you are at a Jersey diner, look on the menu, and good chance you'll see "disco fries". Would "disco fries" be your pick for the one "Jersey" food to try? Would you have chosen "pizza", "pork roll" or maybe "seafood"?

According to Espresso, "Disco fries became popular here during the disco era—the plate of crisp fries covered in gravy and melted cheese was a great way to soak up the alcohol after a night of doing the bump under a glittering mirror ball. But you don’t need to dance or drink to enjoy New Jersey’s version of poutine today. Some eateries use traditional thick-cut fries, while others offer waffle fries. The cheese is usually American, cheddar or mozzarella."
