I have lived in New Jersey my whole life, and for the most part, I have thrived and enjoyed life here in the Garden State. Just like any state here in America, New Jersey has its really nice spots, and it's share of some pretty crappy spots. Luckily, I had a chance to live at the Jersey Shore, and it's a nice spot that most say is a great place to live.

It's not easy to have nice towns that are perfect for families. You have to work at it if you want nice places to raise a family. You need good housing, you need good schools, you need good health care, you need good parks, and you need good security, which is good fire, EMS, and police. There is no good foundation if you don't have all of these players in your town.

Do you agree? I think we can all agree on these items to have a good town to raise a family. There is a new article by Only In Your State that discusses this topic. It's entitled "3 Reasons Why New Jersey Is the Best Place to Raise a Family."

According to Only In Your State, "New Jersey is also an incredible place to live for parents who want to expose their children to the full gamut of human cultural experiences. This is one of the most diverse states in the country, with countless unique ethnic enclaves across the state offering an authentic way to discover new food and culture from those who know them best."

Why Is New Jersey A Perfect Spot To Raise A Family in 2026?

  • Quality of Life in New Jersey: "New Jersey is considered a top-tier state to raise a family. Overall quality of life is strong; it was ranked 19th overall out of all 50 states by US News and World Report in 2025."

  • Education and Family-Friendly Amenities: "For those looking to raise a family in New Jersey, one of the best reasons is the education system. New Jersey is ranked #1 by US News and World Report for education."

  • Unique Cultural and Lifestyle Benefits of New Jersey: "Whether you're looking for the over-the-top excitement of Wildwood or the more quaint small-town charm of Point Pleasant Beach, the shore is always calling when the weather gets warm."

So, how do you feel about life in the Garden State? Do you agree with the points made here? Have you lived in other states? How do they compare with New Jersey? Some of our negatives that I see are taxes, insurance, traffic, over developement. Post your comments and sound off.
