As we head into Easter weekend I wanted to share some random thoughts with you:

  • I for one am glad that Seaside Park is going through with the annexation of South Seaside Park. I never quite understood the dynamic of why the 10-block area was part of Berkeley Township, some 16 miles from the mainland.  Berkeley police would have to drive that distance and more twice a day for a routine shift as they kept an eye on the 400 or so residents, a number that increased greatly in the summer.  Meanwhile those residents had to make that long trip whenever they needed to go to the Berkeley municipal complex.  Of course tax dollars are a big issue and it will likely take some time to see how all of that works out. It’s nice to see something that makes sense actually happen.
  • I have a way to save money on new cars. Make directional signals an option as it seems like half the drivers today don’t use them anyway.
  • The Yankees pitching staff has the potential to be the best we have seen in many years.
  • If we get nice days like we had this week check the wind before you make plans to head to the beach. If the wind is blowing strong from the south be prepared for it to be up to 20 degrees cooler by the ocean.
  • The price of gas not only impacts our daily lives it could be a huge negative for our tourism industry. Hopefully we never get to $5 a gallon and the price starts dropping sooner than later.
  • With NIL and the transfer portal I have really lost interest in college basketball.
  • I miss the days when my children were younger and we got dressed up for Easter, went to church and then got together with other family members. It was hectic for sure but looking back it was also a lot of fun.

Happy Easter and Happy Passover.
