Editor's Note - Round Two voting has now closed, click here to vote on Round Three!

We've had a full work week's worth of voting on Round Two of Ocean County Mascot Madness, and if there's one thing I've learned through this process, it's that we have some fiercely loyal people here in Ocean County!

As of right now, 1:30pm on Friday, March 4th, we have almost 11,000 votes on the four matchups. Here's some analysis:

Matchup 1 - Toms River East Raiders vs. Central Regional Golden Eagles

With almost 4,000 votes cast in this matchup alone, the Raiders appear to be handily holding off the Golden Eagles. But, it's not over yet! With almost three full days left to vote (voting closes at Noon on Monday), if Central Regional gets the word out and mounts a counter attack, we could have an upset.

Matchup 2 - Toms River South Indians vs. Brick Township Green Dragons

As with matchup 1, Toms River pride is shining bright as the Indians have been leading from day one. The margin isn't as wide as their crosstown rivals', but at this pace, the Indians could sail into Round 3.

Matchup 3 - Point Pleasant Borough Panthers vs. Lacey Lions

Let's call this one the Big Cats Matchup. The Panthers are ahead of the Lions, but only by 9%. Lacey started strong, but faded a bit during the week, allowing Point Borough to open up the lead just a little wider as of right now.

Matchup 4 - Donovon Catholic Griffins vs. Lakewood Piners

This is the one to watch as we get through the weekend. The Griffins have the narrowest of leads right now over the Piners, less than 7%, and it's been like that all week, sometimes coming as close as less than 100 votes. This one is going to come down to who can mobilize their fan base the most over the next three days!

Remember, voting goes until Monday, March 7th at 12 Noon. We'll narrow it down to the top 4 once voting closes, and open Round Three up to voting Monday afternoon.
