Library to Be Named After Local Librarian Killed in Toms River Fire

It was a tragic story that broke many hearts this past week in Ocean County. Local librarian Sara Trahey died in a fire at her home in the Silverton section of Toms River. Sara's husband, Jeff, and the couple's three children escaped but Sara was unable to get out.

As a memorial to Sara and the work she did in Lakewood, the Ella G. Clarke School will dedicate the library to her memory at the Feb. 26 Board of Education meeting. Sara was a media specialist at the Lakewood School.

There will also be a scholarship set up in Sara's memory as well.

The February 26th Lakewood school board meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at 855 Somerset Ave in Lakewood.
