Kingpin Conviction Overturned for Neptune Man

An appeals court vacates the Drug Kingpin conviction of a Neptune man but upholds his conviction on 52 other drug-related counts. The Asbury Park Press reports that Judges in the Appellate Division of Superior Court  ordered that the case of 33-year-old Saeed Ellis be returned to the trial division for resentencing. Ellis was sentenced to life imprisonment with a 25-year parole ineligibility stipulation on the Kingpin charge following his 2008 conviction.  The Monmouth County Prosecutors office is considering its appeallate options.
