I took a car ride on Friday, October 11, 2024 all throughout Atlantic City, New Jersey.

I asked myself this question, “Can Atlantic City become a real college town”?

The simply answer is a conditional, YES.

However, under the current incompetent city administration and elementary, junior high and high school leadership, the city is failing the test miserably.

All of the natural resources are there. All of the budgetary requirements are in place.

The City and public schools have a combined more than $ 500 million annual budget.

The streets and classrooms of Atlantic City should be clean, safe and paved in gold.

Sadly, they’re not.

For its part, Stockton University has done a great job.

In fact, “The Ospreys” have done everything you could ever ask of them.

Stockton has constructed multiple phases of a fabulous Atlantic City campus, with an unlimited potential to do great things.

Everything Stockton has done in Atlantic City is first class all the way.

Just look at the Carnegie Library. When Stockton managed and maintained it … the historic structure was kept in pristine condition … both the interior and exterior.

Since the City of Atlantic City took the property back, you can readily see that the condition and overall appearance has declined.

Several years ago, Marty and La’Quetta Small kicked Stockton University out of the Atlantic City boathouse.

They did so in such a callous manner and lowered the boom right before the start of the Stockton rowing season … it almost cost them the entire season.

However, the City of Brigantine saved the day and welcomed Stockton with open arms. Stockton continues to row there to this day.

The incredible sickness is that the Atlantic City boathouse was hardly being used at all when The Smalls’ kicked Stockton University out.

Cities all over America would give just about anything to have the resources that Atlantic City has.

Things will ultimately change for the better, however, not until the current city and school leadership is removed from office.
