"It’s a dynamic traveling feat by anyone to journey across America covering nearly 5,000 miles of road, but imagine what it was like doing so completely alone in 1919 riding a four-cylinder Henderson motorcycle, with no GPS, on dirt roads, and with no previous travel in the American landscape? British Royal Air Force Captain Charles Kenilworth “C.K.” Shephard explored miles of territory on his trip across America outlined in his book, Across America by Motor-Cycle, published in 1922."

This 4th of July week a historic motorcycle tour is coming through New Jersey, including a stop here in Toms River. Nearly 100 years later, United States Air Force Captain Mark Leslie Hunnibell retraces C.K.’s path.

Visit www.AcrossAmericabyMotorcycle.com for more details on how to follow along online or meet him and his cherry red, fully-restored, 1919 Henderson motorcycle in a city near you.

Shawn Michaels sat down to talk with Captain Hunnibell about this historic journey as the team passed through Toms River this week:
