Now I realize it probably had something to do with sales, maybe a local liquor store? Maybe they even rented space on it for other advertisers? There is another just like it down by New Gretna on Route 9. I believe the one in New Gretna was used to advertise Renault Winery, but don't quote me.

So what is the history of this bottle? I'd love to know the background. When was it built? What was its original purpose? Why doesn't anyone take advantage of this BIG bottle and do something with it?

These questions bring up the question "what would YOU like to see this BIG bottle become?" It's a cool sight and landmark. Maybe even just a new paint job with some cool colors and artwork? It reminds me of the kinds of things you see in Roadside America... these bigger-than-life roadside attractions. Imagine it with a facelift, it would definitely capture people's attention because it's unique. There are not that many BIG bottles around.

Next time you are driving Route 9 in Berkeley Township keep an eye out for this BIG bottle.

In conclusion: Let's figure this out together... what was this used for and what would you like to see it become?
