I am going to start this article by making a promise: I will only talk about gas prices if I think it is absolutely necessary.

I write this after seeing a friend of mine who drove from South Carolina to New Jersey over the weekend. (With the cost of gas? Ouch)

On his trip up North, he had a run in with an out-of-state gas station.

Long story short, they pulled some shady stuff when it was time for him to pay because their prices were not posted.

Wild, right?

So it got me wondering, do New Jersey gas stations legally have to post their prices? And what other rules and regulations come along with it?

Thank you to Donald Defelice of Circle Hyundai in Shrewsbury who helped me with the research for this piece.

Do New Jersey Gas Stations Legally Have To Post Their Prices

A friend recently told me a wild story about a gas station arguing with him over prices...and it got me thinking about the rules here in New Jersey...

So long story short, if you come across a gas station who does not have their prices publicly posted, REPORT IT because it is illegal.

A friendly reminder to utilize apps like GasBuddy.com and NewJerseyGasPrices.com to save money where you can because every dollar counts these days.

I remember when I thought that $20.00 for a tank of gas was expensive...joke is on me, right?

If I missed anything regarding New Jersey gas stations and the rules they must follow that you think should be included, email me at Nicole.Murray@townsquaremedia.com.

Otherwise, safe driving and remember to fill up on Monday's because prices will usually be at least a few cents cheaper.

After you fill up on gas, what do you say we go fill up on carbs?
