Garden State Parkway Drivers Better Stop at Forked River Rest Area

If you travel the Garden State Parkway in Ocean and Monmouth Counties you may want to make sure you stop at the Forked River Rest Area, because the Asbury Park Rest Area is closed. This means your only place for food, coffee, gas, and restrooms in Ocean/Monmouth is the Forked River Rest Area.

This means nearly 50 miles without a Rest Area for drivers driving here at the Shore. Northbound drivers will have to go to mile marker 124 for the Cheesequake Rest Stop.

So remember if you need to stop, remember you better stop in Forked River. The Asbury Park Rest Area will be closed until May 2019. Plans call for the new Rest Area to include Shake Shack, Chick-fil-A, Auntie Anne's, Starbucks, and Z Mart.

Drivers will still have access to parking lots, and Academy Bus will continue to make stops there.
