Students in the Adelphia School in Freehold Township are getting a lesson on citizenship, leadership and community involvement thanks to a special food drive.

The Can Can Camp Out Drive runs from now until this Friday and organizers tell us it's going incredibly well bringing the students together with their parents and the faculty.

The students are trying to reach a collection goal of 4,444 cans or boxes of non-perishible food.  Principal Alysson Keelen says "the students have been very excited about this initative.  Each of the 375 kids are taking part and every class in each of our grade levels."

The drive will benefit the Howell Food Pantry.  Donations of canned goods, gift cards for food warehouses and supermarkets will also be accepted.  If the kids reach their goal, the faculty of the school will camp outside next Friday, June 8th.
