Do we need road improvements on sections of Route 9 in Toms River and Lakewood? That will be the focus of public hearings coming up here in Ocean County. The North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority will be looking at ways to improve the flow of traffic and cut down the amount of accidents along Route 9 from the Garden State Parkway in Toms River to downtown Lakewood. Hopefully some pot holes will be filled as well along this stretch because at times you feel like your driving "off-road"

There will be two meetings at Mancini Hall at the Ocean County Library in Downtown Toms River.

  • Tuesday, August 23rd - from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 24th - from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Among the ideas being proposed .. a two-way left turn lane, added traffic signals and dedicated left- and right-turn lanes at some intersections, according to State Officials.

How do you rate the Ride on Route 9 ?
