We've been keeping a close eye on the progress of the construction that's been going on over at the Riverwalk Shopping Center in Brick.

The plaza that houses Buffalo Wild Wings and Outback Steakhouse will be cutting the ribbon on a new tenant soon, with big progress being made on the latest Lidl grocery store to come to the Jersey Shore.

We got the heads up on the Brick Lidl project only days after the Germany-based supermarket announced plans to open a location just over the county line in Howell last year.

Since the flurry of 2019 announcements, the Howell location on Route 9 cut the ribbon, joining the growing Jersey Shore Lidl family.

Currently, in addition to Howell, there are nearby Lidl locations in Lacey Township, Eatontown, and a bit further up the road in Hazlet.

As for the Brick location, the company hasn't made an official announcement about when they'll cut the ribbon on the Brick Boulevard/Hooper Avenue location, but there's been plenty of unofficial social media chatter as the cosmetic touches seem to be close to completion:

Remember, this isn't official, but it did catch my eye that a number of people on Facebook's "Growin' Up In Brick..." group chimed in on a recent thread to say that the local Lidl is on track to open between mid-November and mid-December.

In the meantime, we'll continue to keep our eye on the progress, as well as on Lidl's helpful "Grand Openings" page on their official website, and we'll be sure to let you know as soon as the official ribbon cutting is announced.
