Blessing of the Bees

The  Blessing of the Bees took place this week in New York City !

The buzz at a New York City cathedral was over a blessing for bees. The Episcopal St. John the Divine Cathedral hosted its first Blessing of the Bees Tuesday. The service took place at a new hive on the grounds of the massive Gothic church. Cathedral officials say the hive will be a haven for bees and will benefit the city’s green spaces and gardens. Those who attended were advised to wear long pants and long sleeves.

The cathedral has hosted blessings of the animals and blessings of the bikes. But this was the first blessing of the bees.
