Willingboro Man Charged in Fatal Hit and Run of His Brother

Charges against a Willingboro man are upgraded to Murder after his brother dies from injuries caused in an intentional hit and run incident.

The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office says Lyle Person, age 33, was originally charged with Assault By Auto and Knowingly Leaving The Scene of An Accident Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. However, a probe led investigators to determine that Lee Person, age 31, was run down by his brother on March 14th on Beverly-Rancocas Road following a verbal dispute at a relative’s house.

Lee Person was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden where he succumbed to his injuries on March 19th. The Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide from multiple injuries sustained in the hit and run.

Lyle Person now faces upgraded charges of Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident. Bail on the upgraded charges stands at $350,000 with a first appearance on those charges scheduled for Thursday, April, 17th.

April N. Palmer, age 32, of Mount Holly faces Obstruction and Hindering Apprehension charges for allegedly trying to conceal the damaged BMW used in the incident. Her bail is set at $50,000.
