On the opposite side, the state with the least amount of marriages is Rhode Island at 25%. After Rhode Island, it's South Dakota (26.5%) and Mississippi (27.2%).

When it comes to divorce, however, New Jersey makes the list! The Garden State is in the Top 5 for Divorce in America! We are in the Top 3 nationally! According to the  kgnlawfirm.com study, "New Jersey's divorce rate of 15.6% is notable. The state's diverse, densely populated nature and high living costs might contribute to relationship strains. Also, the proximity to major urban centers like New York City might influence marital stability."

So there are only two states in the nation that have higher divorce rates than New Jersey, Maryland (2) and Mississippi (1). On the other end of the spectrum, Minnesota has the lowest divorce rate (5.2%).
