Sometimes, someone says something so simple yet so powerful that it makes an impact on you.

I've heard and read a lot of quotes that inspire me, but one in particular sticks out to me as being timeless and wise in an incredibly simple way. No, it didn't come from a philosopher, a world leader, or a renowned educator. It came from an entertainment writer. I find these words from Roger Ebert incredibly inspiring:

I believe that if, at the end of it all, according to our abilities, we have done something to make others a little happier, and something to make ourselves a little happier, that is about the best we can do. To make others less happy is a crime.

It's a simple sentiment, but when you really think about it, it's a great way to think about life.
