My vacation wrapped up this past week with a visit to an amazing 1,000 year old castle ruin in rural Germany.

My vacation continued this past Monday and Tuesday with a fast train ride to Paris (close to 300 mp/h!). Here are some pictures of my visit to The City of Lights:

Day two of my vacation took me to Montreux, Switzerland - home of the Montreux Jazz Festival (which we were lucky enough to just avoid and miss the huge crowds), and amazing views of Lake Geneva. Here are some photos:

I'm getting ready to hit the road (well, the skies actually). Starting tomorrow I'll be heading out to Switzerland, France, and Germany (and I'm still open to your last minute packing tips!) But I plan on keeping you updated on my travels.

These days we're all trying to save money on trips. I'm heading out on vacation next month; I'll be saving by staying with a friend who has also generously offered to let me use his family's second vehicle as well.

Well, we've made it, it's Memorial Day Weekend. Some of us will be getting the heck out of town and some of us will stick it out. In my time living here at the shore, I've noticed a few sure-fire ways to tell that Summer has undoubtedly arrived (officially or not!):
