What is This ? Give Your Thoughts

So while on vacation last week I did alot of window shopping, just checking out all kinds of shops along the Jersey Shore.

One day I stumbled across this "item" and when I asked folks in the store they replied " honestly I have no idea " and that began my intrigue!

This "object " consists of a wooden box , lined with plastic, a chicken wire stand, and clothes pins. I have never seen anything like this .

I put a picture on facebook and got a few replies....some good , some just funny . One thought maybe a beef jerky dryer ! Another an herb dryer ! One wrote some from the novel "50 Shades of Grey" !

So is it a functioning item? Is it an art piece? Is it simply decoration ?
