If you didn't have to work this weekend, and if you weren't stuck in the house all yesterday doing your taxes, then I'm hoping you got to enjoy some time outdoors.  The weather was gorgeous!  As I was sitting in the yard looking back on the weekend I realized it was a treat for all the senses.

  • Sight: blue skies, bright sunshine, green grass, colorful flowers
  • Smell: food on the grill, charcoal, flowers, freshly cut grass
  • Sound: birds chirping, kids playing, ocean waves crashing
  • Taste: ice cream, hot dogs, lemonade
  • Touch: the feel of flip flops on the feet, sand between the toes, and sunshine on the shoulders.

And though I didn't get to FirstEnergy Park myself this weekend, friends did.  In that one place alone, there are lots of summertime sensations.  The sound of the bat hitting the ball, the cheer of the crowd, the way the field looks under those bright lights, the firmness of those seats, not to mention the taste of all that delicious baseball food.

Noticing everything this weekend made it feel like summer will be here soon and we'll have many lovely days ahead to enjoy our beautiful Jersey Shore.
