Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman says the electrical fire inside the Delta Shuttle Terminal was reported at 5 p.m. Sunday and quickly extinguished.

He says the terminal was briefly evacuated to allow smoke to dissipate and the screening of passengers resumed within an hour.

The terminal is used by The Delta Shuttle and US Airways.

On Saturday, hundreds of air passengers and staff were evacuated from a terminal at Kennedy Airport for about two hours after a metal detector malfunctioned at one of the security checkpoints.
