The fire that ripped through dozens of shops on the boardwalk in Seaside Park and Heights last Thursday is determined accidental. Investigators say it stemmed from problems with electrical wiring under the boardwalk, where the Kohr's ice cream stand stood.

Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato explains that age of the wiring below Kohr's and Biscayne Candies, perhaps 40 years or more, contributed to the spark that triggered upon contact. But it was further compromised by water and sand incursions that took place during Hurricane Sandy last October 29.

This is a developing story. Please check back for more details.
