For over half a century, if you wanted a short stack of pancakes any time of day and you're not near one of Ocean County's outstanding diners, IHOP has been synonymous with all day breakfast and perfect pancakes.

But, it looks like the chain will be breaking with a generations old tradition by changing their name in the coming days.

With teases on social media, including their official Twitter feed, IHOP is letting the cat out of the bag that the familiar "P" will be replaced by a "B" next Monday (June 11):

Ok, IHOP, you have our attention.

They kept the tease going, putting up a poll of possible meanings behind the name change. So far, "Bacon" is leading the guessing game:

Well, we won't have to wait too long to find out what's behind the switcheroo, the big announcement is coming on Monday, June 11th.

What could it possibly "B"?

You can of course enjoy IHOPs throughout Ocean County, with locations in Brick, Toms River, and Manahawkin.
