If IHOP wanted to get the public's attention last week, mission accomplished!

The internet went into a tizzy in response to the pancake chain's announcement that their name would be changing from IHOP to IHOB.

And now we know why.

Yes, it's just a publicity stunt.

IHOP will not be permanently changing their name, but wanted to drum up interest for their just-launched burger campaign:

Most of you who commented on our Facebook post last week were predicting that the "B" would be meant to stand for "breakfast", but a few of you called the clever marketing scheme correctly, well done!

The chain of course has a trio of Ocean County locations, with a pair in Toms River and one in Brick.
