Authorities tell the Asbury Park Press the dolphins were found in Barnegat Light and Holgate on Long Beach Island, Ship Bottom, Mantoloking and Strathmere in Cape May County. Yesterday's discovery comes one day after three dead dolphins washed up Friday.

Robert Schoelkopf, Director of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigatine, is working with state officials to figure out why the dolphins are dying. Viral pneumonia has been found in some of the dolphins, but Schoelkopf adds that cannot be ruled as an exact cause until all of the animals have been tested.
