More Dolphins Wash Up on Jersey Shore Beaches
Two more dead dolphins washed up on Jersey Shore beaches Saturday, bringing the new total to 68 since July.
The dolphins were found in Sea Girt and Brigantine, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has declared the dolphin deaths an "unusual mortality event." More than 230 dolphins have been reported dead from New Jersey south to Virginia.
Officials have said viral pneumonia seems to be killing the dolphins, but an exact cause is still unknown.
