Explosions Could Be Heard Throughout Ocean County On Thursday

Long time residents of Ocean County know the drill - booms could be heard for miles, and depending on where you are you may even feel the ground shake.

No, it's not an earthquake, it's just the fine men and women at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst blowing stuff up.

Tomorrow, Thursday January 25th between 9am and 3pm, the base will be conducting heavy weapons training.

Of course, if you live close to the base you'll likely hear the results, which you're probably used to by now.

In addition, if clouds roll in, the noise could carry further than normal and be heard by folks who aren't used to the sounds of the regular training exercises.
