No one was injured in the crash shortly before 10 p.m. Toms River Police Department spokesman Ralph Stocco said 19-year-old Township resident Nicholas Corsair was arrested and charged with DWI.

Corsair's passenger, 23-year-old Robert Latronico, also of Toms River, was arrested on 5 outstanding warrants from Toms River and Brick in the amount of $1,500. He also was charged with possession of heroin, according to Stocco. Latronico was being held on $5,000 bail.

The damage to the utility pole and subsequent repairs has resulted detours this morning.   Traffic on Route 9, in both directions, is being diverted between Whitty Road and Sunset Avenue.  Stocco said JCP&L crews remain on the scene and the repairs are expected to last until the afternoon.
