Police Department Spokesman Ralph Stocco said 37-year-old Jennifer Hyman was traveling north on Cedar Grove Road in a 2003 Jeep when she turned right onto Bay Avenue and struck a vehicle traveling westbound Tuesday, around 7:30 pm.

The 28-year-old driver was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment of minor injuries.

Hyman also is accused of kicking the officer who was trying to arrest her, according to Stocco.

In addition to the Drunk Driving and other motor vehicle charges, Sgt. Ed Mooney and Officer William Hutton charged her with resisting arrest and a second degree criminal offense of Child Neglect for driving intoxicated while having her child in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Bail was set at $50,000.
