It was almost exactly a month ago that we told you about Gravity Vault, a rock climbing gym currently being built in Brick Plaza.

Well, they're about to get company just down the road with another climbing center under construction.

Calling ClimbZone "a rock climbing gym" seems like it would be a heck of an understatement though. The Route 9 project touts dozens of obstacles soaring stories high.

ClimbZone is currently being built in the Greenleaf Shopping Center in Howell, the current home of BJ's Wholesale Club and XScape Theatres.

From photos on their Facebook page, it looks like less of a construction project than a full-on excavation:

According to my colleague Matt Ryan at our sister station 94.3 The Point, ClimbZone will feature no fewer than 68 climbing walls, including the two-and-a-half story tall "Knight in Shining Armor" obstacle.

ClimbZone is targeting a spring 2019 grand opening, and you can follow the progress of the project on their official website by clicking here.
