46th Annual Cancer Ball - "The White Ball" Saturday, June 8, 2013

The American Cancer Society will host one of New Jersey’s most exceptional social events, Cancer Ball, at the waterfront estate of George and Lori Hall on North Ward Avenue in Rumson, New Jersey.  The gala, which takes place on Saturday, June 8, 2013, will honor the Kurr Foundation with Honorary Chair, Carol Stillwell.

At the 2013 Cancer Ball guests will enjoy a simply elegant affair, “The White Ball.”  Beginning at 6:30 p.m., 500 guests will be treated to a refreshingly cool atmosphere along the banks of the Shrewsbury River.  The evening will feature both live and silent auctions during cocktails, and dinner and dancing followed by two exclusive raffle drawings.

This year, the Cancer Ball will be honoring The Kurr Foundation.  The Kurr Foundation has been a supporter of the American Cancer Society’s Jersey Shore Region for nearly 30 years and remains the region’s largest contributor.  Among many of the foundation’s contributions, perhaps most noteworthy is the major support to the Patient Navigation program in our area’s local hospital systems. Aside from patient navigation, The Kurr Foundation has supported Cancer Ball, patient and family services programs, and numerous major research efforts, making the foundation a supporter of nearly every facet of the organization.

In addition to The Kurr Foundation, Cancer Ball recognizes Honorary Chair, Carol Stillwell.  Stillwell-Hanson President and CEO, area philanthropist and fervent supporter in the fight against cancer, Cancer Ball is thrilled to honor Carol in appreciation of her years of generous support to the American Cancer Society and numerous charities across the state of New Jersey and beyond.  Her generosity, passion and enthusiasm for the cause are contagious!

For 46 years, in different forms and at varied venues, the Cancer Ball has been held with one purpose:  to raise funds to assist in eradicating cancer and to support those battling the disease.  Since 2000 alone, the Cancer Ball has raised approximately $16 million dollars in the fight against cancer.  Proceeds from the gala fund research grants and help support American Cancer Society programs and services for cancer patients and their families.  Patients and families can access help any time of the day or night by calling 1-800-227-2345 or online at cancer.org.
