Asbury Park Man Charged with August Murder

An arrest has been made in the shooting death of Asbury Park resident 20-year-old Tyrell Howard on August 16th in the city.

21-year-old city resident Bryan Burford was taken into custody Sunday and charged with murder and weapons counts. He was being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $1,000,000 bail.

The victim was gunned down at the Washington Village Apartment Complex on Washington Avenue and pronounced dead at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

If convicted, Burford could face a minimum sentence of 30 years in state prison.
