Brindley was sentenced today in a Trenton courtroom, according to information from the office of New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman. He had pleaded guilty to a count of sexual exploitation of a minor.

He's also ordered to serve five years' supervised release and to register as a sex offender.

Investigators said that the mother in Ohio with whom Brindley believed he was chatting in early 2012 was actually an undercover law enforcement officer.

On April 2 of last year, said prosecutors, with no prompting, Brindley took sexual advantage of the youngster in his care in his home and streamed it in real-time.

He was arrested the same day by Ocean County investigators, and has been in custody since the incident was raised to the federal case level in May of last year.

He has been in custody since the case was adopted federally in May 2012.
