40 years of anything is impressive.

40 years of marriage, 40 years in one house, 40 years at a job. It's all something to be impressed by.

But 40 years at one radio station is a special accomplishment, and today we're honoring WOBM's very own Kevin Williams for that rare achievement.

On July 23rd, 1979, Kevin's tenure at Ocean County's first radio station began.

In the 40 years since, he's received some truly remarkable accolades:

  • 9-time New Jersey Sportscaster of the Year
  • New Jersey Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame inductee
  • Shore Conference & Central Regional Hall of Fame inductee
  • Distinguished Alumni - Ocean County College
  • Member - Ocean County Chamber of Commerce
  • Beachwood Man of the Year
  • Board Member - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County

It's amazing when you think that over WOBM's 51 years of existence, only 11 of those years didn't include Kevin Williams.

If you ask almost anyone who grew up in Ocean County to name a local celebrity, chances are that the two names that will come to mind first will be Bob Levy and Kevin Williams.

This morning, Kevin's kids, Brandon and Alex surprised him with a special edition of his signature on-air feature, The Hometown View:

On behalf of 92.7 WOBM, congratulations on 40 years, Kevin, we're proud to share the airwaves with you!
