We Got One Step Closer to Space Tourism Yesterday [Video]
There wasn't a whole lot of news coverage yesterday, but make no mistake, a pretty significant milestone was reached in the Mojave Desert of California yesterday morning.
Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic craft, "SpaceShipTwo" fired it's rocket engines, the very same engines that will eventually take it to space, for the first time.
The craft has performed a number of unpowered test flights already, but yesterday was the first time that it was released from the "WhiteKnightTwo" mothership and blasted away in front of a jet of fire.
Branson and the Virgin Galactic team see this as a major stepping stone to bringing space tourism to the masses.
