“Toys for Tots” Event This Weekend in Toms River

Toms River Fire House #1 is hosting the event.

Even with Covid-19, we still love to help the community. Christmas is magic and "Toys for Tots" is all about helping to bring magic to kids and families that are a little be less fortunate.

The United States Marines will be hosting a “Toys for Tots” event and collection day is Saturday November 14th, 2020 and Sunday November 15th, 2020 from 10:00 am to 5:00pm. The event is both days at the Toms River Fire Company #1 in Downtown Toms River, located at 26 Robbins Street.

"Toys for Tots" is all about bringing a new unwrapped toy for a boy or a girl and the Marines will be on hand at the Toms River Fire Company #1. Then they will distribute to girls and boys on Christmas Day. Toms River Fire Company #1 is proud to support the Marines and this "Toys For Tots" event. Please help out if you can.

I am so proud to donate to this wonderful organization every year. If we can help one child smile at Christmas time, it's totally worth every cent.

The "Toys for Tots" program mission statement from their website: The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to assist the U. S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. This assistance includes providing day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Program, raising funds to provide toys to supplement the collections of local Toys for Tots Campaigns, to provide promotional and support material and defray the costs of conducting annual Toys for Tots Campaigns. Other Foundation support includes providing administrative, advisory, financial, logistic and promotional support to local Toys for Tots Coordinators; managing funds raised and monies donated based on the use of Toys for Tots name or logo; providing other support the Marine Corps, as a federal agency, cannot provide; and conducting public education and information programs about Toys for Tots that call the general public to action in support of this patriotic community action program.
