It was too little too late today for former Illinois Governor Rod Blogojevich.  A Judge sentenced him to 14 years in prison even though he made a last ditch effort to plead for mercy and confessed to making "terrible mistakes" and acknowledged that he broke the law. That's after saying he was innocent for several years.

Really Mr. Blagojevich? After costing taxpayers untold thousands of dollars on two trials, one ending in a deadlocked jury. Now you're saying you broke the law and that you're sorry?

I'm hoping his sentence serves as an example for the many public servants presently violating or considering violating the public's trust but somehow I doubt it.
