You may have noticed driving by that the water tower located across the street from Hooper Avenue Elementary School looks a little different.

Toms River Township officials along with SUEZ and the Toms River Community Arts Project and the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony last week to unveil the new colors.

Toms River Mayor Tom Kelaher, Councilman Mo Hill, GTRCC President Karen Hershey, Director of Operations for SUEZ, Jim Mastrokalos and Community Arts Project Chair, Marshall Kern cut the ribbon, which took place on the Hooper Avenue Elementary School grounds.

Many from the CAP attended along with SUEZ engineers and their tank painting team.

"The water tank is highly visible from Hooper Avenue and proudly displays the Community Arts Project logo so locals and visitors are warmly welcomed with the specially-designed illustration as they enter Toms River," SUEZ spokeswoman Jane Kunka said. "Of course the heart of the effort for refurbishing the water tank is vital to our community which assures our customers that they will continue to receive top quality water and secure resources for peak water use as we enter the summer season.

SUEZ could not be more proud to provide this opportunity to embrace the Community Arts Project graphic on the water tank to help shape, build and identify the community with art, culture and education."

"A special thank you to the Township's Planning & Engineering departments, Toms River Police and Fire Departments, US Tank & Team and H2M and Team," Toms River Township said in a statement.
