Toms River Gets One Step Closer To A Downtown Distillery

If you're a regular at Capone's Pizzeria on Washington Street in Toms River, you may have noticed some work happening inside over the last few weeks.

Today, I went around the corner to grab a slice for lunch like I have done plenty of times.

This time, though, it was impossible to miss the new entrance.

When you walk in from Washington Street, there's now a new foyer with Capone's to the left and a new doorway to the right that just got lettered:

Garden State Distillery will be the new tenant at 13 Washington Street.

If you make a quick stop over to their Facebook page, you'll see that work has been going on since as far back as the end of this past summer.

They capped off 2019 and started 2020 with a brand new bar top:
