The Lorax was not only a good movie, but it taught us a good lesson !

I went to go see the Lorax yesterday and I must say it's my favorite of all the Dr. Seuss movies! Entertaining yes, but it also showed us how ahead of his time Theodore Geisel was!

Ted ( aka Dr Seuss ) wrote "the Lorax" in 1971.....way before being "green" was in , well the "Onceler" was green, but that was symbolic of money...that's how I saw it. I also think that's how big business saw things in the 60's, 70's, 80's and maybe part of the 90's   $$$$$$$$$$

Luckily the "green" movement came along and has been able to influence some people and hopefully help us protect our environment.

So back to the Movie, I think everyone should see it and schools should play it once its out on DVD! We need to remember our place here on earth is to live "WITH" nature , not above it or without it !

Just try to remember to recycle, do not litter, take care of your plants and trees and plant new bushes, flowers, trees etc to help the environment.

This Spring try doing one thing to help Mother Nature around your house and if we all did it... it would add up !

April 22nd is "Earth Day" here's some tips to go green around the home:

  • Turn off your electronics at night to reduce phantom electrical draw
  • Get kids to start young and remember to turn off video games and televisions
  • Slow down, drive the speed limit and use cruise control will save on gas
  • Replace your furnace/air conditioning filters to save your system
  • Install dimmer switches to reduce power needing for lighting
  • Run a full dishwasher

Just a few tips to help you "go green" at home , Townsquare Media also has a "Go Green" guide to help.

By the way the picture above are trees on my property and they will be with us a long, long time!

Unless someone like you...cares a whole awful lot...nothing is going to get better...It's not ~                                                                                                                   Dr. Seuss
