The 2018 Toms River Police Test Application Period Is Now Open

If you or someone you know has wanted to get involved with the community, help our neighbors, and fight crime, starting today the Toms River Police Department is looking for their next crop of recruits!

Between now and July 31st, applications will be accepted for the Toms River Police test, which only comes around once every 3 years.

According to a press release from TRPD, those interested should meet the following criteria:

• Be a United States citizen
• Be between the ages of 18 and 34
• Have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Or have 64 credits from an accredited college or university AND 2 years of active duty in the military
• Or have 64 credits from an accredited college or university AND 2 years as a full time regular police officer

If you meet the above criteria, you're eligible to apply to the Toms River Police Department for the position of Probationary Police Officer!

Here are some important dates to keep in mind:

• The written entrance exam will be September 8th, 2018
• The fitness & swim test will be October 28th, 2018

Remember, the application period only runs through July 31st, and this only comes around once every 3 years!
