Summer 2017

So Labor Day has passed, the kids are back at school, most people have wrapped up their summer vacation plans, but those of us who live here in Ocean County know one important thing - beach and boardwalk season isn't over.

So summer is over and you have a bucket full of shells. Here's how to find out exactly what they are!

As summer winds down, Labor Day bears down on us, and back to school is right around the corner, what do you and your family have on your list of things to do before real life sets back in?

It pains me to say this, but as of this writing we're less than 3 weeks away from Labor Day 2017, the unofficial end to summer at the Jersey Shore.

We're all familiar with the famous banner planes that zig zag across the shore every summer, towing advertisements for everything from car insurance to night clubs.

It was only two weeks ago that I was complaining about the ridiculousness of back to school displays starting to show up in local stores, with summer not even half over yet. But if you think that's bad, this one takes the cake (or at least the pumpkin spice muffins).

It's official, we're looking down the barrel of a heat wave. It will be hot, humid, muggy, and just generally unpleasant all around. But you know what? I'll take it.

When a shark is spotted getting a little too close to any beach that people are swimming at, it can get intense. But things took an unexpected turn this past weekend when a man on Long Beach Island dove in with his bare hands to help. Literally.

Most school kids in Ocean County have only been out of school for less than a month, but astoundingly, the back to school sales are already showing up nearby.
