Gov. Phil Murphy's first term saw the most laws in a four-year span since 1982-85. But plenty of bills you may have heard of didn't make the final cut.
Six laws kick in at the start of 2017, as well as the beginning of tax cuts approved in the bargain that increased the gas tax by almost 23 cents a gallon.
I've lived in a number of different states throughout my life, and New Jersey stands apart from all of them for one thing (no, I'm not talking about pumping your own gas) - you can't possess or set off fireworks in The Garden State.
For smokers, it's become increasingly more restrictive as to where you can partake. With very few exceptions (such as some casino areas), smoking indoors anywhere is now forbidden, and there are many restrictions on outdoor smoking in public areas too.
This is a topic that I've visited before (in fact, I briefly touched on it just yesterday), but it still blows my mind how people just don't get it. Snow is inconvenient. Nobody likes when you have to go out in the snow. Yet, it seems like people still try to find a way to get on the road with as little effort as possible.
Look at that photo above. Looks like something out of a Hollywood war movie, right? But it's not. It's just a guy with a lot of fireworks and a lot of time on his hands.
