Red Bank, NJ based non-profit Waves Of Education holding 5K fundraiser!
It's always important to do what we can to help others in any number of areas, including in our own communities, which, sometimes can also help local communities in another part of the world.
The non-profit organization, Waves of Education based in Red Bank, has for years worked to help provide education and schools to children in Galiraya, Uganda so that they can have what we had/have and have that ability to learn and grow.
Kristina Rems and Alexandra Cruz are two sisters who are constantly giving of themselves to help these children dream, learn, and become whoever they want to be when they grow up and change the world.
Both have been on our airwaves in the past, in the news and on 'Shore Time with Vin and Dave' discussing what they do and providing updates on how things are going.
There continues to be progress made each day and things are really taking shape and looking good.
"In May we were able to open four of the seven classrooms. To date, there are 253 children enrolled and five teachers," Kristina Rems tells Townsquare Media News.
So far, there has been a kitchen built along with a storage room, staff room, and bathrooms in addition to the four classrooms in Uganda, Rems said, and she anticipates that three additional classrooms, a library, and a head teacher's office reaching completion by December.
Waves of Education and these children eager to learn in Galiraya, Uganda need your continued help and support to make their dreams a reality.

The non-profit is hosting a 5K or 1-mile run/walk between September 4 and September 25 where you can take out some time to run or walk and help WOE raise funds to finish building these schools and supplying them with what's needed.
"The money that we raise from the 5k is going to be going to purchasing supplies such as desks, school uniforms, and other necessary materials," Rems said. "We are also starting a sponsorship program where you can sponsor a child to go to the school for 150 dollars per year."
