Ready for the Super Snow Moon?

If you love star gazing and checking out the full moon, then you won't want to miss the Super Snow Moon.  Here in New Jersey, the moon will reach full peak tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 19th) at 10:54 a.m. Not a great time to view, so for us here at the Jersey Shore the best bet is "moonrise" between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

It's called the snow moon because of the time of year. It will be the brightest super moon of 2019. The next full moon will be on March 20th, and while it is also a supermoon it won’t be quite as big as the snow moon.

FYI: Bad weather and heavy snows made hunting difficult, so this moon was also called the Hunger Moon.
