By the end of the year, a popular burger chain that once had a nearby restaurant, will be moving closer to hungry Ocean County shoppers.

Cheeburger Cheeburger, with made to order burgers, fries, onion rings, and a decidedly 50s-era diner style, used to have a restaurant in the ShopRite plaza in Brick, but closed up a few years ago.

In the meantime, if you wanted to enjoy their burgers (and you can't forget about those shakes!), you'd have to trek up Route 9 almost to Middlesex County, to hit their location in Manalapan.

The next closest is their location in Holmdel, on Route 35.

But, The Asbury Park Press is reporting that the Manalapan location will be picking up and taking an 11 mile journey south, to Aldrich Plaza on Route 9 in Howell, just south of 195.

It's not Ocean County, but it's about as close as you can get to Ocean County without actually being in Ocean County.

The report didn't name an actual date that the new restaurant will open, aside from saying that it's, "expected to open there this year".

When a specific date is named, we'll be sure to let you know!
