
Poll – Should NJ Raise The Speed Limit To 75?
With apologies in advance for the pun - a movement is gathering speed to change the limit on New Jersey's highways.
Our sister station NJ 101.5 reports that a Lakewood man has started a petition to raise the speed limit from the current maximum of 65 to 75.
We're actually in the minority, with less than a dozen states still capping speeds for cars at or below 65. But when you look at where those states are, they're mostly in the highly congested and heavily traveled Northeast.
While proponents of raising the limit suggest that it would make traffic flow better, opponents say that making the limit 10 miles per hour higher would only make speeders go even faster than they already do.
As of this writing, the Change.org petition has just over 2,000 signatures.
